How to get readable text in AI images with MOSS-Image

Text inside images is the thing MOSS-Image was built to do well. OpenMOSS lists "strong text rendering" among its headline features, and the model reads prompts long enough to describe a whole poster. It still needs a clear brief. These seven habits make the difference between "OPNE 24H" and "OPEN 24H".
1. Quote the exact words
Anything you want written goes in quotation marks, exactly as it should appear:
- Weak: a café sign that says open all night
- Strong: a café sign reading "OPEN ALL NIGHT"
Without quotes the model paraphrases, translates or invents.
2. Say where the text goes
Text needs a surface and a position: on the awning, across the top of the poster, on the jar's paper label, handwritten on the sticky note. A location tells the model how big the letters should be and what perspective they follow.
3. Describe the lettering
Type has a look. Name it: bold condensed sans-serif, hand-painted serif, pink neon tubes, embossed gold foil, chalk on a blackboard. One or two words are enough.
4. Control line breaks yourself
The user guide notes that MOSS-Image breaks lines automatically, but not always where you'd choose. If the break matters, write it into the prompt: put each line on its own line inside the quotes. For a two-line label:
A minimalist coffee bag label with the text "MOSS ROAST SINGLE ORIGIN" in a bold sans-serif, small mountain icon, moss-green background.
5. Keep it short
A headline plus one small line works most of the time. A paragraph of fine print works some of the time. If you need long copy or exact brand typography, generate the image with space for the text and set the final type in a design tool.
6. Chinese works, written as Chinese
MOSS-Image renders Chinese characters as well as English. Write the characters inside the quotes, in the order and lines you want. The official example is a handwritten sticky note on a fridge with three short Chinese lines. Keep Chinese text as short as you would English, and check each character.
7. Check every character at full size
Open the image large and read it letter by letter: spelling, punctuation, capitals, doubled words. If one word is off, generate again with the same prompt; with a fixed seed you can change the wording and keep the composition.
A full example
A vintage national-park style poster of a misty pine forest trail at dawn. Across the top, in large cream uppercase serif letters: "WANDER THE MOSS". Below the illustration, in smaller letters: "EST. 2026". Screen-print texture, sage green and cream palette, wide margins.
Paste it into the studio with the Poster & text style and a 2:3 ratio. For precise placement of several text blocks, use a JSON layout prompt, which gives each block its own bounding box.
